The Belize zoo was opened in 1983 to provide a home for animals used in a documentary film. It has quickly become a popular place to visit as it is considered a sanctuary for the animals. It is also known as “The Best Little Zoo in the World”, and a great place for animal lovers and the family to visit and experience the Belize Zoo Tour.
The Belize Zoo houses over 157 animals representing over 45 native species. The animals are kept in their natural habitat and are either donated, rescued, born in the zoo, orphaned or brought to the zoo for rehabilitation. Come get your close up pictures of your favorite animals in their natural environment.
