The Belize zoo is about a 45-minute drive from Belize City. It’s a popular stop as it’s only a couple minutes off the Western Highway. Here you can get close up encounters with your favourite animals. Learn of the conservation and rehabilitation work that the Belize zoo do to keep our different species of endangered wildlife protected.
After a fun time with the animals at the Belize Zoo, the tour then takes you to Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve. It’s only a half-hour drive from the Belize Zoo. This is a National park, where there are changing rooms and restrooms for you to get comfortable for the cave tubing tour. You will be equipped with your tubes, helmet and headlamps and then take 30-40 minute hike to the caves. This is the most enjoyable and relaxing tour as you float through the caves that the Mayans once used for ceremonial practices.
